Drug Transporter

Man says he personally bribed law enforcement

WESLACO - For the first time, an alleged member of the Gulf Cartel is explaining how millions in drugs make it across the border every day.

The man, whom we'll call Juan, tells NEWSCHANNEL 5 he personally bribes federal, state, and local police to help bring drugs from Mexico into the United States.

The smugglers sometimes even use Border Patrol boats and Trucks.

"We bring it across - that's on a two-man boat - bring it across to the Suburbans, Tahoes, then ship it to the nearest stash house." Says Juan.

Juan tells NEWSCHANNEL 5 they even use agents at the bridges to allow shipments to just drive across the border.

"He'll beep us. Tell us what lanes gonna be operating from what time to what time," Juan explains. "We pull anywhere from 50 to 100 kilos in each car."
