Residents have speak out following appeals court ruling.

Brownsville - Most residents were upset to hear about the appeals court reversing the conviction and death sentence of John Alan Rubio.

One man who went to the funeral, remembers the day.

"It was sad to see three kids for no particular reason" says Juan Salinas.

Catalina Sarinas says "If they retry him, I believe they'll find him guilty again."

Christina Castillo says "I think they need to conduct a more thorough investigation, this is very serious. If they let him go, he could do the same thing again."

No date has been set for Rubio's return to the Valley, or for the start of his new trial.
