Center looking into drugs, guns, human smugglers

EL PASO - Government agencies across the country are working hand in hand to fight the ongoing gun running battle. NEWSCHANNEL 5 got a look inside one of the intelligence centers right here in Texas.

More than 30 local, state and federal law enforcement agencies work together in one building. It is known as EPIC, or the El Paso Intelligence Center, located within the city limits.

The center covers California to Brownsville, focusing on any illegal activity including drugs, guns, and human smuggling.

EPIC also does international work, but its main focus is on Mexico.
