Boy hit by a car in Sullivan City dies from his injuries

SULLIVAN CITY - Danny Vasquez spent the last week in a Corpus Christi hospital on life support after being hit by a car while riding his bike.

The 12-year-old's family had hoped he would recover from serious head injuries he suffered in the accident. But the recovery never came.

Monday, the family made the tough decision to pull the boy off life support.

The suspected driver in the accident was caught.

The family has set up an account for donations towards the funeral costs.
