BOSTON (AP) - A Boston seafood company issued a voluntary recall of its cooked langostinos -- because of possible listeria contamination.
Slade Gorton & Company issued the recall for "Icybay Cooked Langostinos."
The product was sold in retail stores in a clear plastic package marked with UPC 0-73129-61672-8.
About 11,000 pounds were sold to wholesalers in the 19 states, including Texas.
The other states are: Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
No sicknesses related to the product have been reported.
The source of the potential contamination is sought.
A langostino, also called a squat lobster, is a crustacean between a shrimp and a lobster in appearance.
