WESLACO - A man is accused of using his 2-year-old girl as a shield from officers.
Ahmed Rashad Williams was involved in an overnight standoff with police in Weslaco. He's now charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and using a hostage as a shield.
The standoff started when police got a call for help. They arrived at Williams' home on Sugar Cane Road. That's when the suspect barricaded himself in the house with his daughter.
