Caballero sentenced in 1984

BROWNSVILLE - A Brownsville man received a presidential pardon.

Mariano Garza Caballero was sentenced in 1984 to 34 days in prison and four years probation for dealing firearms without a license. He was one of 15 men President Bush recently pardoned.

A Denton man was also pardoned for a 1985 conviction for conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.

With about nine months left in his administration, President Bush has granted 157 pardons.
