Bond set at $500,000

BROWNSVILLE - A teen accused of killing his ex-girlfriend will be tried as an adult.

Hector Angel Herrasti Jr. is 16 years old. He's accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Brenda Nunez. This is the first time the suspect's name been released.

His attorney, Rick Canales, says the teen will now be moved to the Cameron County jail. His bond was set at $500,000.

Both Herrasti and Nunez were students at Pace High School.
