Rubio killed in Iraq last Sunday
MCALLEN - The body of a Mission soldier killed in Iraq will be arriving in the Valley tomorrow morning.
Specialist Jose Rubio's remains should be arriving by chartered plane at McCreery Aviation in McAllen at 10 a.m. The company's located right next to the airport.
Rubio was killed in action last Sunday, when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle.
A private viewing will be held for Rubio's family at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission tomorrow. A public viewing is scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
A rosary will also be held those two days at the funeral home. They'll start at 7 p.m.
A funeral mass is scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m. It'll be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Mission. Burial will follow at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery. Rubio leaves behind a wife and an 11-month-old baby boy. He is also survived by his parents, brother, and sisters.
