Officials confiscate thousands of items, arrest more than thirty
ALTON--- Undercover officers raid a valley flea market in search for pirated DVDs, and the people who sell them.
Alton police officers along with agents from all over the state made their way into the Alton flea market.
Officers pretended they were chasing a suspect, but instead went in looking for pirated items and those selling them.
Officials confiscated some fifty thousand DVDs and CDs, and took more than thirty people into custody.
Those taken in will now be facing labeling charges.
Labeling is a felony offense. If you're caught with fraudulent material, or if you're caught trying to de-fraud the recording industry, you can be charged with labeling for selling copyrighted material.
Those arrested for labeling ould be facing a fine and prison time.
