BBB says company not allowed to call customers

PHARR - The Better Business Bureau is warning people not to fall victim to possible phone scam involving discount prescription drug cards.

One woman got three calls in one day from a company who offered her a card, if she would just provide her bank account information. She suspected it might be a scam, so she called NEWSCHANNEL 5.

The company that called her does in fact offer discount prescription cards, but according to the BBB, they're not supposed to call you.

The BBB web site says all Medicare-supported companies are not allowed to call customers. They also remind everyone not to give out any information to callers.

For more information, you can check out the Better Business Bureau web site.
