Troopers Investigating School Bus Crash

Driver rescued from bus

PALMVIEW - DPS troopers are looking for the cause of a major accident in Palmview. Two school buses collided with an 18-wheeler.

The driver of Bus 124 was trapped in the bus. He was rescued and taken to the hospital. He reportedly had serious injuries. There's no word yet on his condition.

That school bus got most of the damage. But no students were inside it.

The second bus involved in the crash was Bus 116. There were nine children being taken to Garcia Middle School. The students were taken to Edinburg Children's Hospital as a precaution.

They're all reportedly fine.

The Garcia Middle School principal and counselors were with the children at the hospital, as they waited for their parents to arrive. Counselors from Carter High School were also on hand to assist.

DPS will decide in anyone will be charged in connection to the crash.
