Man's Death Possible Result of Auto-Pedestrian Accident

DONNA - A man found dead on the side of a road may be the victim of a hit-and-run.

Guillermo Garcia's body was discovered in Donna, near Salinas and Lott streets. Sheriff's investigators originally suspected he had been beaten to death.

But further investigations show his injuries are consistent with an auto-pedestrian accident. The Sheriff's Department suspects a vehicle hit Garcia and dragged him for a short time.

They've turned over their investigation to the Department of Public Safety.
