Candlelight vigil to follow flag-raising

MISSION - A flag-raising ceremony honoring a fallen soldier has been rescheduled.

The City of Mission and members of America's Last Patrol will be pay tribute to Army Specialist Alex Gonzalez on Saturday. It's scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and will be held at the Gonzalez family home on 2200 Barbara Street in Mission.

The ceremony was originally scheduled for 6 p.m.

A candlelight vigil will follow the flag-raising.

Gonzalez was killed in Iraq earlier this week, when a rocket-propelled grenade hit the vehicle he was traveling in.

There's no word yet on when his body will arrive home.
