Missing Man's Body Found in Roma

Mission police taking over investigation

ROMA - Roma officers confirmed the body of a man found near the Rio Grande last week is that of a missing Mission man.

They identified the victim as 59-year-old Martin Leal. An autopsy shows he was shot and had several broken bones.

The Mission Police Department has taken over the investigation.

Lieutenant Martin Garza of the Mission Police Department tells us, "The family is shocked. We're certainly helping them out and we're trying to deal with them through our victims' liaison office and give them the assistance they need through those types of services."
