Government Records Found in Illegally Dumped Trash

Voting records among papers found

PALMVIEW - Government records were found within 13 tons of trash illegally dumped near Palmview.

They included voting records, property tax records, and credit card reports. They were dumped near 3 Mile Line and Giles. Alvin Patina works with the Environmental Crime Unit. He tells us the records aren't local ones.

NEWSCHANNEL 5 got to the area as county workers were cleaning up the trash. We found one paper from Medina County, which is located west of San Antonio.

Patina says the trash wasn't there during last night's patrol of the area, so it was left something between then and this afternoon.

The trash was compacted, leaving workers to believe it came from a garbage company.

It's up to the Environmental Crimes Unit to find out who picked up the trash and who dumped it in the area.
