Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Pharr

Not Clear if Rider was wearing Helmet

PHARR - Tonight Pharr investigators are getting ready to re-enact a motorcycle accident that happened late last night. That accident killed one young McAllen man. Twenty-two-year-old Jason Castro died when he crashed into an SUV.

The accident took place at the intersection of Sugar Road and Polk Avenue. Orange markings show the direction the SUV was coming from. Castro was on his motorcycle coming from the opposite direction of the expressway. Both the driver and Castro attempted to turn onto Sugar Road and that's when everything happened. Investigators tell us Castro crashed into the SUV.

The tire markings also indicate the SUV stopped in its tracks before making a complete turn. It is not clear yet if the victim was wearing his helmet. Police will reconstruct the accident to investigate who was at fault. That will determine if any charges will be filed on the driver of the SUV.
