Pedestrian hit

EDINBURG - Southbound Highway 281 near FM 2812 is closed because of a fatal auto pedestrian accident.

The Edinburg fire chief tells us traffic is being diverted to the frontage road. That section of the expressway will be closed for several hours.

Edinburg police and fire crews are at the scene. Authorities tell us someone was hit by a car near that intersection and was killed.

Southbound Highway 281 will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the frontage, while officials investigate this fatal accident.
