Cyclist pronounced dead at the scene

EDINBURG - Edinburg police are looking into a deadly accident.

It happened near U.S. Highway 281 and FM 2812 late Saturday night. Police say a man was riding his bicycle on the southbound frontage road, when a car hit him.

The accident happened just north of the T.A. Truck Stop.

The driver who hit the cyclist stopped to help.

Authorities pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
