Crew cut fiberoptic line

LA FERIA - Phone service was restored in the Mid-Valley.

Thousands of customers from Weslaco to La Feria could not use their phones this morning. We're told highway construction crews cut a fiberoptic line.

It happened while they working in the area of White Ranch Road and Expressway 83 near La Feria.

That cut off cell phone and land line service for many carriers. Crews fixed the problem around 1:30 p.m.

A similar incident happened two months ago in the same area.
