Area sustained major damage in May storms

ALTON--- People living at the Las Canas Colonia in Alton are hoping their homes can withstand Dolly.

Homes in that area were heavily damage during the May storms.

Families were in the process of rebuilding their homes, and used construction materials to protect the little they have.

Some residents have chosen to evacuate and move to safer locations. Others say they'll wait it out and hope for the best.
