Ex-District Attorney Indicted
De Leon facing multiple charges
BROWNSVILLE - Former District Attorney Yolanda de Leon is preparing to go to court after she was indicted on criminal charges.
De Leon was indicted on Monday on two felony indictments. She is charged with ten counts of tampering with government records and two counts of aggravated perjury.
During a court appearance yesterday, Judge Abel Limas postponed her arraignment at the defense's request.
Jason Moody with the District Attorney's office tells NEWSCHANNEL 5, "In all cases, we attempt to negotiate a resolution and this case will not be treated any differently."
De Leon is due back in court in two weeks.
