Teen facing charges of intoxicated assault

BROWNSVILLE - The man accused of crashing his vehicle into three people then fleeing the scene only to go crash a second time is in police custody tonight.

Brownsville police tell us the first accident happened just after Midnight at the Gold's Gym parking lot. Police arrived to find three people on the ground and two cars damaged.

Moments later, a second accident was reported on FM 802 involving a car that matched the vehicle description from the first accident.

Investigators questioned the driver at the scene of the second accident and say that's when he admitted to striking the pedestrians.

The 18-year-old was arrested for DWI and is now facing charges of intoxication assault and fleeing the scene of an accident involving injury.

All but one of the pedestrians are now out of the hospital.
