FEMA Help

Agent first said they'd only get $352 for roof repairs

COMBES - The Palacios family says when Hurricane Dolly came through, it took part of their roof with it and left a big mess inside their house.

They registered for help with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. When an agent came out and surveyed the land, they were first told they would only receive $352 for repairs.

The family called NEWSCHANNEL 5 for help.

We placed a call to FEMA before heading to their property to look at the home. Before we left, the Palacios family learned they would get more than $2,200 for repairs.

When we tried to call FEMA back to find out what the problem was, they told us they couldn't give any information on individual claims. But representatives say they're glad the family got what they need to rebuild.
