LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Louisville, Kentucky, woman has pleaded not guilty to murdering her two children while they slept and then briefly taking a university counselor hostage.
Gail Coontz was arrested Thursday. Police found her two children dead in their home following the campus incident.
Coontz, a single mom and college student, has been charged by Louisville police with two counts of murder, and by university police with terroristic threatening. Bond is set at $500,000.
The children died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Friday in court, Coontz rocked in her chair and wiped her face while waiting to be arraigned. Her attorney told her he would speak for her at arraignment, and that she shouldn't say anything.
