HARLINGEN - Police charged a 35-year-old man in connection with a deadly bar fight in Harlingen. Edelmiro Gaona Palomino is accused of manslaughter.

Officers say 28-year-old Carlos Maya got into a fight with his girlfriend at the I-69 bar early Saturday morning. According to investigators, Palomino stepped in and punched Maya in the face.

Witnesses say Maya fell, hit his head on the ground and later died at Valley Baptist Medical Center.

MISSION - A woman who had been held against her will and assaulted for several days was rescued after handing a passerby a note.
