EDINBURG - Another Valley athlete is headed to compete on the NCAA Division I level--as Edinburg High softball standout Samantha Arciba signed a national letter of intent with Prairie View A&M on Tuesday afternoon. Arciba chose Prairie View A&M over Texas Southern.

WESLACO - Two more Valley athletes signed college letters on Friday. In Rio Hondo, class 3a 110-meters hurdles state champion Shawn O'Brien signed to run at Houston Baptist. And, at Edinburg North, Cougars basketball standout Sam Cavazos signed with Richland College.
