Alex TrevinoAlex Treviño likes breaking stories along the Texas-Mexico border region involving illegal immigration, drug-trafficking, and human smuggling. He also devotes time to in-depth investigations and human interest stories that affect you every day.

Alex won a 2008 Regional Edward R. Murrow Award. He also received a 2008 TAPB award in the Best Specialty/Beat Reporting feature category. In 2007, he was awarded a TAPB in the Best Feature/Serious category.  Alex was KRGV-TV's first Emmy nominee. He recently got two more Emmy nominations in 2008.

The Texas State University graduate played Pro Soccer for the San Antonio Pumas. Alex likes to give lectures to broadcast journalism students at colleges and universities (but would rather read books outloud to second graders in Weslaco).

Alex began his career in West Texas with an ABC News affiliate before he was Weekend Anchor at NEWSCHANNEL 5 and FOX NEWS at NINE. He has also been the weekend anchor at NEWS 9 SAN ANTONIO.

He has starred in several national commercials and an international commercial for the French company Canal Plus, featuring Tony Parker from the San Antonio Spurs.

As a board member of Palmer Drug Abuse Program (PDAP), Alex is constantly striving to make a difference in the lives of teenage students, encouraging them to make the right choices when it comes to alcohol and drugs. He's also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

Alex has two remarkable sisters Marla and Melissa.
