MERCEDES - A Mercedes family is waiting to get the power turned on at their new home.

A huge bill is causing confusion with their electric provider.

Manny and Juana Perez say CP&L won't connect their new home because they owe 250 dollars.

A spokesperson for CP&L confirmed that a second address got added to the Perez account.

We went to that address less than a mile away and spoke to the family.

They showed us a copy of their bill.

The account holder is also named Juana Perez.

Officials with CP&L are investigating this possible case of mistaken identity.

They add that the family should have power within the next 24 hours.

The company is working with police.
