DONNA - A family is trying to figure out where they will live.  An out-of-control driver destroyed their mobile home.

Gabriella Tostado says, "At 1:30 in the morning, a truck went over the canal and crashed into our trailer."

The driver took out the right side of the Tostado family's trailer, breaking through walls and damaging the plumbing.  Broken glass and dishes were left everywhere.

The family wasn't home at the time.  No one was hurt.  But the wreck left the trailer too dangerous to live in.

"The things I like, they're broken," says 9-year-old Dulce Tostado.

For now, the family is relying on neighbors for help.  They can't afford repairs or a new home. They tell us the driver who caused the damage doesn't have insurance.

While CHANNEL 5 NEWS was talking to the family, the driver responsible showed up. Off-camera he says he did cause the damage and wants to fix it.

"He's telling us he knows he has to pay for everything, but I think we need to go to a judge. A judge can decide, so there are no problems for him or us," says Tostado.

They hope they get some help soon.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS is still looking into what caused the man to slam into the home.
