WESLACO - Weslaco police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal house fire. The blaze killed 46-year-old Melva Martinez and her 12-year-old son AJ on October 10.
The suspect will be charged with two counts of capital murder, one count of attempted capital murder, and arson.
The fire happened on the 1200 block of Valley View. Martinez was able to save her younger son, before she died. She pushed him through a window to safety.
The suspect will appear in court later this afternoon. CHANNEL 5 NEWS will bring you the very latest developments as soon as they become available.
