SOUTH PADRE ISLAND - Joni Clarke was named the permanent City Manger for the Town of South Padre Island.
A spokesperson for the town says Clarke was named city manager in a special meeting at town hall Wednesday night.
Clarke served as acting city manager for the past two months.
Former City Manager Dewey Cashwell resigned from the post in August 2009.
