Masterminds

As part of our strong commitment to education, KRGV NEWSCHANNEL 5 produces an academic quiz for high school students from across the Valley.

Teams face off on such subjects as history, math, English, current events, art and music. The competition takes place throughout the school year with teams meeting by a draw system. No differentiation is made to school size which tends to build the individual student’s self-esteem.

In addition to donating the production time of the program and airtime, KRGV NEWSCHANNEL 5 donates $100 to each school each time they compete, for library replenishment so that all the students from that school can benefit. KRGV NEWSCHANNEL 5 also gave each team member a patch to sew on their letterman jackets.

Masterminds airs on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m.
