MCALLEN - Rudy Saldana and his family know what it's like to lose everything in a fire. They were one of 30 families who lost their homes in an apartment complex fire in September 2011. The Saldana family knows what it's like to need help from the Red Cross and others.

"They helped us extremely, because literally when we got out of the fire, we just had the clothes on our backs. They clothed us for the first month, I want to say until we were able to gather our money and get back on our feet," says Criselda Garcia.
