MCALLEN - Valley voters are headed to the polls. In addition to the state amendments, there are a few local offices and propositions on the ballots.

There’s been a fairly steady turnout at the Palmer Pavilion in McAllen. The city has two propositions on the ballot. They both deal with whether fire and police employees have the right to binding arbitration to settle contract disputes.
We learned 1,500 people voted early in this election. A few hundred more are expected today.
In Alamo, supporters are outside of polling locations holding campaign signs. Two city commissioner seats and municipal judge post are up for grabs. There’s also a local proposition to extend the term of city judges from two years to four years.
Election officials tell us the turnout has been steady this morning and expect it to continue throughout the day.
There's a municipal court judge race in Willacy County. There’s also a city proposition on the ballot in South Padre Island.
Polls are open until 7 p.m.
