PORT ISABEL - Authorities released the name of the victim in a deadly hit-and-run in Port Isabel.
The Port Isabel police chief says 44-year-old Reyna Hernandez Garcia died, when a pick-up truck hit her last night.
The driver of the truck took off, but he was caught a short time later. Authorities charged 51-year-old Alejandro Petricioli of Port Isabel with failure to stop and render aid.
The accident happened on the 500 block of Highway 100 around 9 p.m. yesterday. Police tell us Garcia was trying to cross the street.
They say she may have hung onto the truck and was dragged about 80 feet from where she was hit.
We're told the driver may face more charges pending the outcome of the investigation.
