DALLAS (AP) Dallas police say one person has been killed and six others injured after a gunbattle erupted between rival gangs.
Dallas police say in a statement Sunday that the shooting occurred after a fight broke out in a nightclub. Police say club promoters held a function for teenagers when rival gangs created a disturbance. Paid security guards used mace to break up a fight, and it moved outside.
Police say they were responded to the shooting shortly after 1 a.m. They have identified the person who was killed as 21-year-old Terrance Carroll.
Dallas police say they have arrested 21-year-old Eugene Rudd and charged him with unlawful possession of a weapon by felon. They say witnesses identified Rudd as one of those who fired a weapon.
