BANGUI, Central African Republic (AP) An official with Doctors Without Borders says at least 16 people are dead in fighting across the capital of Central African Republic.

Sylvain Groulx, head of mission for the aid group, said the toll comprises only those taken to two hospitals.

Thursday's fighting has been between the mostly Muslim fighters who control the country and Christians who back its ousted president.
