HARLINGEN - Two buildings in Harlingen will be converted into processing centers for young illegal immigrants.

The structures are on North 77 Sunshine Strip, according to city records. The sites will not be used to house immigrants.

"The plans show that there are six classrooms, three medical offices, a dining area and a couple of intake rooms or processing centers. That's in one of the buildings," city of Harlingen Spokesman David Ralph said.

The other building will be used for administrative purposes.

The city didn't have an opening date for the centers.
