2 McAllen ISD Schools Still Without Power

MCALLEN - Two McAllen ISD campuses are still without power. The affected schools are Travis Middle School and Seguin Elementary.

Power was restored at Nikki Rowe High School around 9:15 a.m. About an hour later, power was restored at McAllen High School, Lincoln Middle School and Navarro Elementary.

McAllen ISD officials told us classes are still in session at all the campuses.

As of 10 a.m., the AEP Texas outages map listed the following number of outages:

  • More than 7,300 customers without power in Starr County
  • More than 9,100 customers without power in Hidalgo County
  • More than 1,000 customers without power in Cameron County
  • More than 600 customers without power in Willacy County

Utility crews are working to restore power. CHANNEL 5 NEWS is working to confirm the cause of the outages.

The city of McAllen released a list of traffic signals affected by the outage.
