TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) Investigators say two people have been killed at a Northeast Texas ranch and a resident called authorities to report he shot the pair.
The Bowie (BOO'-ee) County Sheriff's Office says the circumstances of Monday morning's shootings near Texarkana are under investigation.
Chief Deputy Jeff Neal said a man told authorities that he shot two people trying to break into his home at the Prissy Chrissy Ranch, which also serves as an events venue. The two people were pronounced dead on the scene.
Neal declined to say whether the man and the woman who died were armed. Their names weren't immediately released.
Neal said no one has been charged, pending a continuing investigation.
