BROWNSVILLE - Three Brownsville men are facing criminal charges after leading police on a pursuit Tuesday morning.

Police say the men are suspected behind several car thefts. The pursuit ended at the Jefferson Square Apartments near downtown Brownsville. Two magnet schools on the central administration campus were put in lockdown for a half hour.

"I heard them hit the utility pole. I saw them leaving the car. Two ran toward the apartment while the other ran in the alley. The officers were right behind them," says Juan Macias, a witness.

All three suspects are in police custody. They'll be arraigned Wednesday morning on multiple charges, including evading arrest.
