EDINBURG - Solid pitching efforts out of UT-Pan American (28-20, 15-12) went unrewarded Friday as the Broncs dropped a pair of games to Houston Baptist by identical 4-2 scores. In the first game, Dusten Knight kept the game scoreless with nine shutout innings. The only problem was that the Broncs couldn't score either in the first nine. Both teams scored twice in the 11th before Houston Baptist scored the game winning runs in the top of the 12th. In game two, scheduled for seven innings, Michael Zouzalik kept the Huskies scoreless until the fourth. HBU scored three runs after two were out in the frame. The visitors then held off the Broncs in the bottom of the seventh to preserve a 4-2 decision. Two teams close out the four-game series on Saturday afternoon in Edinburg.
