PROGRESO - Four people were arrested Wednesday in Progreso on charges of harboring a known fugitive.
Police said the four were arrested after authorities found Arnulfo Silguero in their home. Silguero was wanted in the shooting of his brother-in-law on Christmas Eve in San Juan.
San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez said his detectives and U.S. Marshals Service deputies tracked Silguero's family for more than a week. They eventually led them to the house in Progreso.
"If we can prove that they were actually harboring (him) all this time - which we know they were - different family members, then they'll be facing third-degree felony charges," Gonzalez said.
Gonzalez said Silguero also is wanted in Mexico on murder charges.
Police said the victim in the shooting will likely be left paralyzed.
