BROWNSVILLE - Federal agents on Thursday broke up a drug and money remittance ring.
Prosecutors said the drug conspiracy ran from January, 2009 through May of this year. Agents arrested four men on drug conspiracy and possession charges.
Three of the suspects are from Brownsville. The fourth suspect is a Mexican national, officials said.
The arrests were part of an operation called Hips Don't Lie.
The indictment alleges the men took part in the smuggling and shipment of marijuana and cocaine.
Prosecutors are trying to seize some of the defendants' property.
The suspects face up to life in prison if convicted.
