SAN ANTONIO (AP) An Air Force instructor at a San Antonio base has been sentenced to three months of hard labor, reduced rank and a bad-conduct discharge for his guilty plea to sexual impropriety with a trainee.
A panel of seven military officers sentenced Staff Sgt. Donald Davis on Thursday to reduction to airman first class, hard labor without confinement and the discharge for an unprofessional personal and sexual relationship with a trainee.
The sentencing at Lackland Air Force Base came a day after a military jury acquitted Davis of assault and battery against a trainee and abusive sexual contact.
The case arose from the sex abuse scandal that embroiled 32 basic-training instructors at Lackland. Seven are now convicted of misconduct. Investigators say more than 40 women were targeted at Lackland.
