ALAMO - The city of Alamo will install fire hydrants at a local flea market.

The decision comes after a blaze destroyed two vendor stands last week at Alamo Market Place. The fire brought to light the lack of fire hydrants at the site.

Alamo city officials said they knew about the lack of fire hydrants at the site since they annexed the property years ago.

Alamo City Manager Luciano Ozuna said the fire expedited the plans to install six hydrants inside the flea market. The project is expected to take from 60 to 90 days.
