STARR COUNTY - Two suspects went before a judge to face charges for their alleged involvement in a crack cocaine trafficking operation.

The suspect's names are part of a sealed indictment.

The men and 10 other suspects were arrested Tuesday in Rio Grande City. Eleven suspects face federal charges and one will be tried in a state court.

The arrests happened after a yearlong investigation. The Rio Grande City police teamed up with Drug Enforcement Administration agents to raid several homes and make the arrests.

Money, guns and drugs were seized during the raids.

Officials said indictments are sealed to avoid tipping off suspects, to protect juveniles or if a suspect is cooperating and some information needs to be protected.
