KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) Astros second baseman Jose Altuve has already established himself as one of Houston's top players and he won't turn 24 until May.

He has been one of the few bright spots for Houston in the last two seasons. This year he's hoping his contributions finally help the Astros win.

He says rebuilding a team is difficult but: "we're going the right way."

In his second full season in the majors in 2013, Altuve led Houston's everyday players in batting average (.283), hits (177), stolen bases (35) and tied teammate Chris Carter for runs scored (64).
