National Sheep Summary for Wednesday, June 18, 2014
Compared to last week at Sioux Falls, SD slaughter lambs steady;
slaughter ewes firm; feeder lambs steady.
Slaughter Lambs: Choice and Prime 2-3 90-150 lbs:
Sioux Falls: shorn and wooled 125-145 lbs 154.00-155.50.
Virginia: no test.
Slaughter Lambs: Choice and Prime 1:
Sioux Falls: no test.
Virginia: no test.
Slaughter Ewes:
Sioux Falls: Good 3-4 (very fleshy) 47.00; Good 2-3 (fleshy) 36.00-
37.50; Utility 1-2 (thin) 35.00-42.00; Cull 1 (extremely
thin) 32.00.
Virginia: Good 2-4 no test.
Feeder Lambs: Medium and Large 1-2:
Sioux Falls: 40 lbs 260.00; 60-70 lbs 226.00-235.00; 95 lbs 185.00;
103 lbs 176.00; 114 lbs 156.00.
Virginia: no test.
Replacement Ewes: Medium and Large 1-2:
Sioux Falls: baby tooth to solid mouth 220-230 lbs 65.00 cwt; solid

Sheep and lamb slaughter under federal inspection for the week to date
totaled 27,000 compared with 24,000 last week and 27,000 last year.
